Community Guidelines
Effective Date: May 1, 2026 | Last Updated: May 2026
TL;DR (The Simple Version)
- Respect the Neighborhood: Keep interactions friendly and constructive. No bullying, hate speech, or harassment.
- Keep it Safe: Do not post illegal content, scams, malware, or graphic violence.
- Be Genuine: Do not create fake accounts, impersonate others, or spam the community feed.
Welcome to SociablePlace! Our goal is to build a vibrant, welcoming, and safe digital neighborhood. These Community Guidelines outline what is and isn’t allowed on our platform. By participating in our community, you agree to uphold these standards alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Core Principles
To ensure SociablePlace remains a positive digital environment, all members must adhere to three foundational values:
- Safety First: We do not tolerate behavior that threatens, exploits, or causes real-world harm to our members.
- Respect and Kindness: Diverse perspectives are welcome, but personal attacks, abuse, and discrimination are strictly prohibited.
- Authenticity: We expect members to represent themselves honestly and engage in meaningful, genuine interactions.
2. Prohibited Content & Behavior (Strictly Not Allowed)
The following categories of content and behavior violate our community values and will result in immediate enforcement action:
A. Violence, Hate, and Harassment
- Incitement of Violence: Statements that threaten, encourage, or coordinate acts of real-world violence against individuals or groups.
- Hate Speech: Attacking, dehumanizing, or inciting hatred against people based on protected characteristics like race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or national origin.
- Bullying & Harassment: Targeted campaigns to intimidate, demean, or abuse another member via public posts, comments, or private messages.
B. Harm and Exploitation
- Exploitation of Minors: Any content involving the sexual abuse, exploitation, endangerment, or inappropriate nudity of minors. This carries a zero-tolerance policy and will be reported to law enforcement immediately.
- Human Exploitation: Content related to human trafficking, modern slavery, or the forcing of individuals into exploitative conditions.
- Self-Harm Promotion: Content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions on suicide, self-injury, or severe eating disorders.
C. Fraud, Deception, and Inauthentic Activity
- Spam and Scams: Unsolicited promotional broadcasting, phishing attempts, pyramid schemes, or financial scams designed to defraud members.
- Impersonation & Fake Identity: Creating accounts to intentionally mislead others by pretending to be a platform administrator, public figure, or another individual.
- Data Scraping: Using automated scripts or bots to extract personal data or user directories from the platform without explicit site permission.
D. Safety and Technical Integrity
- Malicious Code: Uploading or distributing malware, viruses, or hosting scripts meant to interrupt, damage, or compromise the digital platform’s security framework.
- Intellectual Property Theft: Posting photos, media, or original text that violates someone else’s copyright or trademark protections.
- Illegal Goods & Services: Facilitating or promoting the sale of illegal drugs, restricted goods, weapons, or locally unregulated or illegal services.
3. Content Requiring Special Context
We recognize that important news reporting, political commentary, and educational awareness discussions sometimes cover sensitive topics. In these scenarios:
- Warning Screens: Graphic historical media or non-promotional discussions of sensitive topics (such as mental health awareness) may be hidden behind warning filters to protect community preferences.
- Misinformation Labels: Content identified as demonstrably false or highly misleading may be restricted in reach, deleted, or appended with informational warning flags.
- Adult Content (18+): Non-exploitative adult nudity or sexually explicit themes may be subject to strict visibility filters and are strictly prohibited from appearing in general feeds accessed by minor accounts.
4. Reporting and Enforcement
We work to maintain the community through a blended approach of user reporting, automated filters, and human administration review:
- How to Report: If you see content or an account that violates these guidelines, you can flag it using the internal reporting tools or contact an administrator directly via the platform messaging system.
- Consequences: Violations may result in formal warnings, post removals, content restrictions, or a permanent platform ban. Serious legal infractions or exploitation threats will be shared directly with appropriate authorities.
- Appeals Process: If you believe your content or account was mistakenly restricted, you may submit a request for administrative review through our formal communication channels.
